Sick of a seeing a religous,sad Jesus, then read this

This book cuts to the religous bone of who Jesus is. I have been to Rodney Howard Brownes meetings and the book is written exactly how he preaches. I only wish I had read this when I was a young christian instead of having a religous Son of God portrayed that was ready to condemm you at every wrong move. If you want a revitalisation,and a book thats very easy to read, plus the Gospels thrown in for good measure then I highly recommend this book

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone. For The spirit filled Christian, It is a blessing. For the average Christian this book will encourage you to have a deeper relationship with God. And for the non Christian, it will present a non religious view of Jesus!! This book will show most people an intirely different point of view, and be a very positive life encouraging experience that can help in the world we live in.

Action packed thriller that keeps you turning pages

I found this book very entertaining. I am a huge Vince Flynn fan and a 33 year police veteran. I enjoyed the action and highly recommend it for fans of political thrillers and intrigue. If I have one issue, and it is admittedly a small one, I think Mr. Maloney could use a firearms consultant. There seems to be some confusion about semi automatic, burst fire, weapon selection for specific missions, etc. Again, a small issue, but one that as a 24 year firearms instructor and gun enthusiast I find distracting. OVERALL though, a fun read from a good author that I highly recommend!

A truly realistic and engaging thriller

Say what you want about special ops books - a great many of them show the hero in shining glory, fending off bullets with ease, getting the girl. And riding off into the sunset.

Not this one. While Leo Maloney's hero (Dan Morgan) never lacks for courage, he doesn't always win the day. He's subject to the math of superior numbers at times, is susceptible to injury, and is given to frustration, just as the reader is when a scene doesn't go the way it rightfully should.

I appreciate that about this novel. Morgan and company's struggles feel realistic and jarring. It's what keeps the reader turning the page and showing up late for real life appointments.

The other cool note about this book is that it can be read as a standalone novel. You don't need to worry about how it fits into the chronology of the other Dan Morgan adventures. Although I'm certain that after reading this one, you'll want to read the others too.

Excellent GIS book

Arguably, this is the best introductory GIS and water, wastewater, stormwater book around. The material is very readable and well organized, making the book an excellent foundation for additional detailed study. The selection and organization of topics, style of presentation, emphasis and writing are excellent. Examples to reinforce concepts are also provided. For example, GIS data and software examples are presented before their applications and GIS case studies are presented before the methods are explained.
This book provides a wealth of information and resources. In addition to the examples and practical case studies, the book also provides links to web sites that offer articles, tutorials and more samples, as well as organizations that have an interest in all aspects of the GIS and water resources and water distribution networks. The book also includes an introduction to Internet GIS, GeoSpatial database tools for water resources, integration of hydrologic and hydraulic models with GIS, and several other resources. For anyone who wants a solid introduction to these topics, these chapters are a must read.
This book provides exhaustive coverage of everything you need to know in order to master the GIS applications for water related fields. Lachs attempts to solve many textural problems by positing Hebrew and Aramaic originals mistranslated into Greek. Typically we miss it - we try to understand the Scriptures from our point of view in history, instead of letting history speak for itself. This book is a tremendous resource for discovering Rabbinic mindset and practices that we often misunderstand or worse yet, mistranslate.

About the Author

Dr. Ernest Small received a doctorate in plant evolution from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1969 and has since been employed with the Research Branch of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, where he presently holds the status of Principal Research Scientist. He is the author of over 300 scientific publications on plants and 13 books, several of which have received major awards. Dr. Small’s career has included dozens of appearances as an expert botanical witness in court cases, acting as an adviser to national governments, presenting numerous invited university and professional association lectures, supervising post-graduate students at various universities, participating in international societies and committees, journal editing, and media interviews.
