Also included is an exegetical evaluation of the old King James Version compared with the NKJV, showing by a study of every word in the books of Genesis, Romans, and Revelation, that the old KJV is a superior translation to the NKJV.

Excellent book for NT textual criticism
By Paul Crow
Any serious student of New Testament textual criticism will recall the principles of textual evaluation that Westcott and Hort used when compiling their edition of the critical text of the New Testament (older is better, for example). Surrett asks for authority on which to formulate such assumptions. He argues that these principles of textual criticism seem to have no Biblical basis, and that any textual criticism must start with Biblical assumptions. He then lays out what those assumptions should be based upon what the Bible itself says. Certain Bible commands and promises, he asserts, should form the framework for our guiding principles of evaluating extant New Testament texts. Based upon those commands and principles, Surrett then lists the principles of New Testament criticism. He reveals what NT textual criticism should look like when the critic begins with absolute faith in the promises of God's Word. His conclusion, based upon the principles found in the Scripture, is that the Received Text is the far superior choice for the NT.
An appendix makes a comparison of two English translations, the Authorized (or King James) Version and the New King James Version. Having gone through three Bible books word by word, he shows that although there are times when the NKJV is more accurate than the KJV, the majority of the time the KJV better reflects the meaning of the original language. He concludes that the most important aspect of a translation is not readability, but faithfulness to the original document being translated.
Overall, the book is excellent in that it takes a topic that can be difficult to understand and brings it down where laymen can grasp it. Some "defenses" of the KJV and Received Text of the New Testament can devolve into either name-calling or ludicrous assertions. Surrett's book carefully steers clear of these pitfalls, mingling sound reasoning with charity towards those who may disagree. Because the book is designed for laymen, there will be those who would wish that the appendix went into more detail in its evaluation. For example, some might want to know more about Surrett's evaluating process as he compared English translations. What authorities did he consult to conclude that one translation is "more accurate"? These questions will remain unanswered at the end of the book. Nevertheless, the book is a tremendous resource, not only for the textual critic, but also for those attempting to understand a very under-represented segment of those who still prefer the old King James Version.

This book was excellent in explaining why the KJV is the best translation ...
By My two cents
This book was excellent in explaining why the KJV is the best translation based on Biblical references that explain the the church is to pass down the Scriptures through the generations and because of greater accuracy (among other reasons). I found this book to be easy to understand and very helpful in understanding the issue. This is a great sequel to the author's first book, further expounding the issue to lay people.

The Infallible Word!
By R.U. Sleeping
Here is a must have book on why the Mighty KJV is the infallible, inspired Word of God! It is meaty and well foot-noted and logical. The author does just what it says for the believers to do in in Jude verse 3 and 1Peter3:15 (among others). The author lays out his arguments very well--believing in God's word, and applying discernment as we are commanded to do. I loved my kindle version, but wanted to get my hands also on a physical copy and haven't looked back.
