About the Author
Asked to pick between advertising and design majors at Art Center College of Design, Gabrielle picked both—a bit unusual at the time. Little did she know how fortuitous the choice would be. Two weeks after graduation she got her first job at Keith Bright & Associates designing corporate identities for brands in various categories, including cruise lines and overnight shipping. She was even able help save the planet by designing the Heal the Bay logo, which is still in use today. Gabrielle moved on to become a print designer for Lexus automobiles. After a few short years the Internet was born, and so was her role in founding the digital creative practice at Team One Advertising. Starting from scratch in a totally new discipline, she used both her advertising and design training to create award-winning campaigns lauded with Effies, Clios and One Show Award pencils. Not able to fit another Lexus sample in her overstuffed portfolio, Gabrielle was lured away by new opportunities, big titles and new brands to work on. Most recently she held the title of EVP, Chief Digital Creative Director at Dailey Advertising. Yet the desire to build a brand of her own based on helping others is what inspires her today.

indispensable for new business owners

This book cuts to the chase and gives you everything you need to know. In the past I have suffered through thick books by authors who have business degrees but have never started or owned their own businesses, and I made costly mistakes by following their advice. I WISH I WOULD HAVE READ THIS SOONER!! This book pays for itself by saving you time and money. Gabrielle Weinman shares her insider tips and literally millions of dollars in research to help you avoid new business pitfalls. It's smart, funny and informative.
I also appreciated the humorous illustrations, easy to follow content and innovative graphic design.

Invaluable to a small business owner (me) looking for a cohesive way to brand myself and not go broke!

A friend (obviously a good one!) tipped me off to this book. This isn't some fly-by-night with a cute title and rip-off window dressing. This is helpful, practical and (most important to me) understandable advice. Loved it and am buying one for each of my brothers who own small businesses, too!
Before I pressed 'buy it' I looked up the author--to see if she was just another big talker or if she really walked the walk. Whoa--G.W. has chops!!! And it shows. So much so, I'm not writing a longer review--I'm too excited to start reworking my logo!
